Capital Pride Director's Award Recipients
These awards are presented to individuals and organizations in recognition of outstanding work in the areas of Advocacy, Family, Health, Arts and Community Service.

The Director's Award for Outstanding Community Service - Burgundy Crescent Volunteers. Founded in 2001, Burgundy Crescent has already become a fixture in the Washington, DC area. From its three founders, BCV has grown to more than 900 members who provide countless hours of volunteer service to both GLBT and non-GLBT organizations in the metropolitan area. Their ability to recruit new members, provide consistently high numbers of high quality volunteers and their dedication to bridging the gap between the GLBT community and the larger community has brought them to a level of prominence and respect unusual for so young an organization.
